The Simulation and Production Logistics Lab at Pusan National University and the Large-scale Stochastic Systems Lab at POSTECH co-hosted The 5th Joint Workshop on Decision Under Uncertainty (DDU) on July 29–30, supported by the BK21 Industrial Big Data Educational Research Group for Global Supply Chain Innovation. The workshop served as an engaging forum for researchers and scholars to share latest advances in decision-making methodologies, stochastic modeling, and smart manufacturing logistics.

The event was led by workshop committee chairs Prof. Soondo Hong (Pusan National University) and Prof. Young Myoung Ko (POSTECH), and brought together prominent international and domestic experts, including Prof. Eunshin Byon (University of Michigan), Dr. Yongseok Jeon (North Carolina State University), Prof. Bonggwon Kang (Kumoh National Institute of Technology), Prof. Seung Min Baik (Hongik University), Prof. Yongkyu Cho (Kyonggi University), and Dr. Youngchan Jang (Agency for Defense Development), along with faculty and graduate researchers from POSTECH and Pusan National University. Key presentations highlighted real-world engineering applications, focusing on digital twin calibration for semiconductor automated material handling systems, simulation optimization, stochastic wind farm wake steering, Bayesian traffic demand modeling, and advanced order-picking systems. The successful gathering fostered rich technical discussions and strengthened collaborative research ties across the participating institutions.
